Dolphin: How to Increase FPS?
Dolphin is unarguably the most advanced Gamecube emulator in development with capability of emulating Wii games. Some games are even working perfectly. The game speed has increased significantly compared to the earlier releases.
Here are some tips to increase speed in dolphin:
1. Close all your unnecessary programs, free your RAM before playing. It is also recommended to close your antivirus before they are resources intensive.
2. Create batch file which automatically set Dolphin to High priority. Open notepad, and copy paste this text:
TASKKILL /IM EXPLORER.EXE /F
start “Boost for Dolphin” /wait /high /max Dolphin.exe
start explorer.exe
save it as .bat file, put it under the same folder with dolphin.exe. You could also change the dolphin.exe with dolphinil.exe, see if there are performance difference.
3. Dolphin configuration:
check:
General
Enable Dual core
Enable Idle skipping
Enable cheats
Framelimit: 60/higher
Hle the IPL
JIT recompiler
Disable use panic handlers
Gamecube
leave the default configuration
Wii
Use EuRGB60 mode (pal60) – I’m doing a exaustinve test to see if this is really necessary!
